Day 1

Arrival at the airport and transfer to your hotel in San José, where you will spend your first night.

Day 2

We begin our tour in the morning, between 7:00 to 8:00 a.m., where we will be heading to La Virgen de Sarapiqui; a drive that will take us approximately 4 hours. We will stay in the Centro Neotropico Sarapiqui, where you will be able to enjoy the botanical gardens, the Archaeological Park Alma Alta and have the opportunity to explore 350 hectares of Trimbina’s Bilogical Reserve. Later during the day for approximately 2 hours, will be doing horseback riding along the reserve’s paths, which will lead us to beautiful landscapes, and dairy farms where will have a close look and a learning experience about Costa Rica’s agricultural system. Upon completion of the tour, we will head back to the hotel.

Day 3

After breakfast we’ll prepare for your next adventure…Whitewater rafting in the well-known Sarapiqui River (rafting class III)! Later you can boost your energy with a hearty lunch at a restaurant before embarking in a minibus that will take you to the picturest town of La Fortuna; where you will be able to enjoy the pool at the hotel or simply relax in its porch, enjoying the magnificent view of Arenal Volcano.

Day 4

After a free morning we will meet at 3:00 pm to visit the Arenal Volcano National Park.In the park we will walk through primary and secondary forests (approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes), where we will rest to a cold lava flow that was formed in the year 1992, and watch the beautiful sunset. With a little luck, we can see the lava sliding and tumbling down the volcano’s mountainside. To end the day, the perfect place to relax will be at the Arenal Hot Springs, where later in the evening we will have a delicious dinner.
At about 9 pm we will return to the hotel.

Day 5

A Canopy tour awaits you! We will start the tour with a horseback ride for approximately 45 minutes to reach the first platform. Once the specialized tour guides assist you with the gear required, you will be ready to go on your first most exiting ride through canopy trees, waterfalls, and rivers for an adventure you will never forget! In the afternoon we will head back to the hotel for some free time to enjoy the rest of the evening.

Day 6

Early in the morning, after breakfast our trip to the Hanging Bridges will begin. It consists of a 1.9 miles hike over a trail through 600 acre reserve filled with vegetation where you can enjoy the rich Costa Rica flora and fauna. The trail crosses nine fixed and six suspension bridges; providing a gentle slope that’s easy to hike for everyone to enjoy. Later, we will be visiting the magnificent La Fortuna Waterfall, where you can take a refreshing swim before we return to the hotel.

Day 7

The trip to Varablanca will start at 7:30am. We will drive through the fertile plains of San Carlos, through plantations of spot yucca, orange, corn rice, papaya, sugar cane, coconuts, passion fruit, as well as driving through forests and pastures bathed by pristine rivers, that provide water for important areas of conservation, such as tropical forests in national parks and nature reserves.
Leaving Varablanca, the scenery will change while driving through the central Volcanic Range, where we will find some of the most active volcanoes of Costa Rica, waterfalls, exuberant landscapes and forests.
At about 9:30am, will stop at La Paz Waterfall Gardens – a beautiful and peaceful place that combines the marvelous rainforest and tropical gardens; here you will be able to find the biggest butterfly garden in the world. The garden paths will lead us through rivers and waterfalls along the way. After our visit, we will continue our trip to Fraijanes, near Poas Volcano, a village located in the high mountain range, where cold weather is predominant. The village of Fraijanes, specializes in coffee, ferns, and other ornamental plants; here we will enjoy lunch, with typical Costa Rican food. To close the day, we will pass through the town of Sarchi, which is known as the “cradle of the craft”; where you will have the opportunity to stroll around the numerous craft stores and choose from a variety of souvenirs to take home memories that will remind you of your trip. At 3:00pm we will complete our journey to San Jose, a trip back that will take us about 45 minutes to your hotel.
